Dear Mr. Totaro, The Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops are very grateful for the use of the Yamaha Disklavier GranTouch Digital Grand Piano, which Boston Organ & Piano has provided us over the last couple of seasons. I just wanted you to know that we use the instrument as our main keyboard for Holiday Pops concerts in December each year, about 38 concerts in Symphony Hall. Over the course of the rest of the year we tend to use the instrument about 10-15 times each season for a variety of events: Pops concerts in the spring; social events in and around Symphony Hall and even to replace a small organ for some rehearsals with the Boston Symphony. Many of events crop up late in the day. Also, we are able to provide live music with the Yamaha GranTouch in spaces where it would be difficult to arrange for an acoustical piano or organ. Again, we want to thank you for the use of this instrument, which as you can see has become essential here at Symphony Hall.
